Meet Grey Ferrell - U of A - Cooperative Extension
Meet Grey Ferrell, a dedicated professional with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension program! With 26 years of experience working with the Navajo Nation and now in his 16th year in extension, Grey specializes in livestock education and youth development. His expertise spans cattle, sheep, horses, and more, providing invaluable support to producers in the Native American Beef Program through Beef Quality Assurance education.
During the 2024 summer sessions, the U of A Cooperative Extension program hosted equine presentations, including farrier, dental, and chiropractic demonstrations, along with discussions on diseases, hauling, nutrition, and logistics at the Window Rock Fairgrounds. Another similar event took place about a month ago in Tuba City, Grey's primary area of focus.
Grey passionately believes in the agrarian lifestyle, embracing farming and ranching. He says that there are Navajo people who are fortunate enough to maintain this way of life, with sheep, cattle, horses, and cornfields to return to.
Let's recognize Grey Ferrell's dedication to enhancing agricultural practices and supporting the Navajo Nation's rich farming and ranching heritage.
